This is a great budget option for people who are already familiar with the city. It's a bit hard to find if you're a first-timer in Taipei and I'd recommend paying the premium at a name brand hotel if that's the case. However, if you've lived in Taipei apartments before, this would make you feel right at home. Great budget option for the experienced Taipei traveler. Nick

If visiting the Shilin night market is your main reason for visiting Taipei, this is a great place to establish your home base. The hotel is located on a quiet alley a few minutes walk from both the market and the Shilin subway station. It's not luxurious by any standard. The rooms are small and the walls are thin - I could hear the shower in the next room. And different rooms have different features. My room had a desk while my friend's room had a cupboard instead. Also, the rooms don't have windows although that seems to be normal for cheaper hotels in Taipei. That said, the staff were accommodating and helpful, and the A/C and hot water worked just fine. If you're looking for an inexpensive place to sleep that puts you in the heart of Shilin, this place is perfectly adequate. Just remember to bring earplugs.

We've been staying at this decent hotel for 2 nights so far, but right now we're locked out of the hotel at 4 AM in the morning. We've been giving a password to the main entrance of the hotel, but somehow it does not seem to work or they have changed the code without our knowledge. So at this moment, we are stuck outside for an unknown amount of time...

The room is small but acceptable. There is no sound proof at all. If you are a light sleeper, do not choose this place. There were noise from broadcasting system during midnight for my two-night stay. I called to reception for 3 times before they solved the problem the first night. But the noise still came out from the speaker on the second night.

Me and my friends took a double room , we are all 3 together ,but they allowed 3 people for a room :) although the room is quite small for 3 person but still good , all furniture are new , the room is clean n new . I will recommend this to you if you're looking for budget room
